Selangor – Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd has implemented Corporate Social Responsibility with 47 residents of the Mahmudah Care Centre Malaysia by holding a gotong-royong activity with artists from the Malaysian Employees Association.
Mr. Zulhikam Ahmad, General Manager of Malaysia Airports (Niaga), the management and staff of Malaysia Airports (Niaga) also spent more than 2 hours socializing with the residents of the Mahmudah Care Centre here, consisting of 12 female residents and 35 male residents. Apart from that, 3 artists from the Malaysian Employees Association also participated in this program.
Malaysia Airports (Niaga) has also donated RM10 thousand in cash, food hampers, vacuum cleaners and various daily necessities to the residents of this home.
Commenting on this Corporate Social Responsibility event, Mr. Zulhikam Ahmad said, “As one of the duty-free airport operating companies that has been operating in Malaysia for a long time – for 24 years, we are very grateful to all stakeholders who have contributed to our success over the years. Initiatives like the one taken today are one way we express our gratitude – namely by sharing our success with those in need by giving them a little contribution”.
“This contribution is a sign of our concern as a corporate company and also part of our corporate social responsibility initiative to the community in Selangor. It is hoped that with a little contribution from us, it can briing a ray of happiness to the residents here”.
The ceremony began with a gotong-royong activity in the morning, giving donations and ending with a meal. The gotong-royong activity was participated in by 45 Malaysia Airports (Niaga) staff.sertai oleh kakitangan Malaysia Airports (Niaga) seramai 45 orang.
“We are also honored to be able to carry out the gotong-royong activity of cleaning the surrounding area and inside the dormitory as was done this morning. This activity gives us the opportunity to get to know the residents here more closely. We hope that activities like this can lighten the burden on their shoulders,” commented Mr. Zulhikam.
The donation collection campaign started on 2 June and ended on 2 September 2017 and received strong support from customers who participated in giving their sincere contributions. This sincere contribution was also shared with 90 selected underprivileged students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Putra Perdana and Sekolah Kebangsan Taman Putra Perdana 2, Puchong during the Aidilfitri Celebration with the Media organized by Malaysia Airports last June.
“Many customers supported this donation campaign that we organized, where they also participated in giving sincere contributions by including the items they purchased. In other words, apart from the company's management and staff, our customers were also directly involved by giving strong support to us in making today's event a success. Thank you also to Garnedia who donated bread and the volunteers who made the gotong-royong activities here a success”, commented Mr. Zulhikam.
Majlis berakhir dengan pemberian sumbangan kepada Pengurus Pusat Jagaan Mahmudah Malaysia, jamuan makan dan persembahan para artis daripada Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia Radhi Khalid, Helmi the Gimmick dan Rozita Rohaizad.
